My first grade babies!!!

I know I still have some parent "followers" from last year, so this is for you! :)  Please let me know how your sweet baby does tomorrow in first grade!  I would LOVE an email!  In the meantime, I just ran across this book (the kids will love it, we made a big deal out of the "Night Before" books)...

What a treat!

This past week I had a surprise waiting on me when I returned from the summer...a special package with a brand new pencil sharpener!  Thanks to Troy from Classroom Friendly Supplies, I am the proud owner of this little beauty...

I have to admit, I have the worst luck with pencil sharpeners.  They either break very easily, are way too loud to use in the classroom, or both!  This pencil sharpener has three great features (there are more I am sure, but these are my favorites)-
1.  It can stand to use or you can mount it (with my kinder babies, I think we'll mount!  You don't need tools to mount and it takes less than 5 minutes!
2.  You cannot over-sharpen!!!!  I must say that again, the kids cannot sharpen down to the eraser!!
3.  It is QUIET!!! :)

Market and DVD party!

This morning was our parent market and DVD party!  Thanks so much to all who were able to attend!  If you were not able to make it, do not worry!  I have put one of each of the products in your child's bag and your own copy of the class DVD as my gift to you!  I hope you will enjoy watching it for many years to come!  Here are a few pictures of today's events!

V and W days!

This week is flying by!  I cannot believe we only have 3 days of kindergarten left!

Wednesday was "V" day-watch an educational video!  We watched  The Mouse and the Motorcycle based on the book by Beverly Cleary!

Today we've started counting our pennies in preparation for Monday's market with our parents!
