Read the Room!

Today we had the grand opening of the last center in our classroom--Read the Room!  The kids are LOVING it!  When the visit the center, the choose a pointer, get their recording sheet, and off they go throughout the room to find words!
Here are a few pictures...
This is our pointer bucket!  We have word swatters, fly swatters, paint sticks, finger pointers, rulers, bubble wands, and animal pointers!

This is the sheet that have to use to record words they find!  If you want a copy, see below!

Tatum was our first friend to visit the center!  She found the word "cat!"

We are 100 days smarter!!

Here is a picture adventure from our 100th day celebrations! 
They were surprised by the sign on the door!  What a great way to start the day!

Station 1: Count fruit loops (100) using our couting mats.
Station 2: String the fruit loops to make a necklace!
Station 3: Writing (What would you like 100 of?  What would you not like 100 of?)
Station 4: Dots to 100!

Station 6: Drawing what we will look like when we are 100 years old!

Martin Luther King Jr. and the 100th Day!


I hope you had a wonderful three day weekend!  We came back today rested and refreshed and ready to learn!  We started the day off learning all about Martin Luther King Jr.  We've read these books...

During centers we shifted gears into the 100th day of school!  This special day is coming up on Thursday!  Here are a few pictures of the collections sent in from home!

Our classroom scientists...
