Pumpkin, Pumpkins, Pumpkins

Last week and part of this week, we've been learning all about pumpkins!  We have completed a Jack-O-Lantern glyph, measured our pumpkins, completed sink and float activities, measured each other using numbered pumpkins, decorated baby pumpkins and carved a class pumpkin!    Here is a picture adventure...

We filled out a Pumpkin Investigation sheet for our math journals and here are a few pictures of us investigating!
Thanks to the Scott family for donating our pumpkin!  It was perfect!

Grace measured how tall our pumpkin was using unifix cubes.

We measured the circumference of our pumpkin with links.

 We tested sink/float!
We even used some baby pumpkins!
Both times the kids were convinced they would sink!  Even after the big pumpkin floated! :)

We also counted the seeds our pumpkin and carved our Jack-O-Lantern...
Decorating our baby pumpkins!
