First let me apologize for my recent "modge podge" postings! We have so much going on in the last few weeks of school, I don't want you to miss a thing!! :)
Last week we did a true "mini-theme" on ladybugs and butterflies that correlated to our shared reading (fiction and non-fiction)! Since we have watched both of these creatures metamorphosis stages first hand, we did a life cycle sheet for our job journal! Here are a few pictures of the kids working on them!
Mary Margaret, Grayson and Gabriel
R. J., Stillman and Jackson
Charlesha and R.J.
Tatum, Kenzie and Elizabeth Kate

For "N" day we were supposed to take a nature walk on AEEC's nature trail. It was raining in the morning and the hill looked very muddy, so we went with plan b! :) We had name-change day! The kids got to choose a name they wanted to be called for the day and we made name tags!
This week we've been talking about plants and flowers! We've learned the parts of a flower and the life cycle of plants! On Tuesday we planted Zinnia seeds!
Kenzie and Greyson
Naveah and J.J.
J.J. had to share his picture of his planted seeds! :)
Monday was Picnic with our teddy bears day! I missed a picture of the picnic, but here they are playing afterwards and then a group photo of them with their bears! :)
And last, but not least, our Exhibition Day is coming up on Friday. This is a time where parents come and their child gets to be their tour guide around the pod and classroom. They get to see what all we've learned about, projects we've worked on, etc. The kids were very concerned with the fact that they learned about spiders with Mrs. Anderson in October, however they took those spiders home. So this week (I'm not sure how we squeezed it in), a few friends got together and made a spider to display with our facts and charts! :)

Mary Margaret working on the head.
Stella did the eyes!
Here she is hanging up!
Do you like spiders? I love how almost everyone said YES! :)
We tied it all into our current chapter book: Charlotte's Web!
We hope you are having a great week!
See you Friday!
With my best,
Absolutely love this!!
